God

Jesus - Puts Jesus, who is the Head of the Church, at the centre of our lives and at the heart of all things

God’s sovereignty - Believes in the power of the Word of God, the Holy Spirit, prayer and worship to provide vision and direction for the church and to change individual lives in order that the Great Commission may be fulfilled

The church

Purpose of the church - Believes that the purpose of the church is to fulfil the Great Commission and to help people to ‘Love God and to love one another’.

Mission - To bring believers and non believers into a fully devoted relationship with Christ.

Focus - Believes it should primarily be an outward focused community of God’s people ie facilitating,
motivating, equipping people to serve, to ‘Be Jesus’ and to introduce and lead others into their own devoted relationship with Christ.

The church in TW

One church in TW - Believes that there is one church in Tunbridge Wells and in working positively,
collaboratively and in unity with other congregations to effectively serve and evangelise Tunbridge Wells. Will, where opportunity and need arises, share its God given resources - people & property - to help other congregations serve their communities as part of the town church of TW.

Community engagement and relevancy - Recognises the need for the church in TW to be more accessible and relevant to those in the communities which it serves. It will do this through the increasing relevancy and accessibility of its programme of activities, by the style of its meetings, in the way it communicates and presents itself to its community and by helping and training individuals to ‘Be Jesus’ to those around them.

God’s people

Everyone a minister - Believes that everyone is a minister and should exercise their God given gifts and ministry wherever God has called them to be - everyone is commissioned by God to ‘Be Jesus’ to those around them.
